  • Reproductive Endocrinology: Kisspeptin is the master upstream regulator of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, making it a central research compound in reproductive biology. Research examines its stimulation of GnRH neurons, the resulting cascade of LH and FSH release, and its role in puberty onset, menstrual cycle regulation, and fertility. Clinical studies investigate its use as a diagnostic tool for hypothalamic amenorrhea and a therapeutic agent for IVF protocols.
  • Neuroendocrinology: Kisspeptin is studied for its role in HPG axis signaling and the neuroendocrine control of reproduction. Research examines kisspeptin neuron populations in the arcuate and AVPV hypothalamic nuclei, their integration of metabolic and photoperiodic cues, and the mechanisms by which they modulate pulsatile GnRH secretion. Studies also investigate the sex steroid feedback regulation of kisspeptin expression.
  • Fertility Medicine: Kisspeptin is studied as an ovulation induction agent that provides more physiological stimulation than exogenous gonadotropins. Research examines its safety for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) prevention during IVF, its efficacy for triggering final oocyte maturation, and its potential for improving outcomes in patients with hypothalamic hypogonadism who are resistant to standard GnRH agonist protocols.
  • Metabolic Research: Kisspeptin is increasingly studied for its non-reproductive roles in energy homeostasis and hypothalamic metabolic signaling. Research examines the interaction between kisspeptin neurons and metabolic regulators (leptin, insulin, NPY/AgRP), the mechanisms linking nutritional status to reproductive function, and the potential for kisspeptin-based interventions in metabolic disorders.

Reconstitution Protocol

  1. 1 Remove the flip-off cap and wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
  2. 2 Using a sterile syringe, draw the desired volume of bacteriostatic water (BAC water).
  3. 3 Insert the needle into the vial at an angle and slowly dispense the water down the inside wall — do not spray directly onto the powder.
  4. 4 Gently swirl (do not shake) the vial until the powder is fully dissolved.
  5. 5 Label the vial with the reconstitution date and concentration.

Storage Conditions

Unreconstituted

Store at -20°C to 4°C (freezer or refrigerator). Stable for 24+ months.

Reconstituted

Refrigerate at 2–8°C. Use within 30 days for optimal stability.

Avoid

Repeated freeze-thaw cycles, direct sunlight, and temperatures above 25°C.

Always note the reconstitution date on the vial label to track shelf life accurately.

Safety & Compliance

  • Wear nitrile gloves and safety goggles when handling research compounds.
  • Work in a clean, controlled environment (laminar flow hood recommended).
  • Dispose of sharps and used materials in approved biohazard containers.
  • This product is for laboratory research use only (RUO) — not for human or veterinary use.
